Welcome to my blog!

 My name is Michelle Schlottmann and I am a Pre-k teacher in Brenham ISD.  This is my third year to teach Pre-k...and I love it.  My goal with this blog is to improve the communication between the families of my students, my classroom and me.  I hope to make our families feel more involved and informed about their student's education.   Many people have the impression that pre-k is just a glorified day care but I am not of that school of thought.  The state of Texas has presented guidelines that we follow to ensure all of our students are as ready as they can be to enter any kindergarten classroom.  Our students grow and mature at an incredible rate in the nine months that they are with us.  It is amazing to me every year how much each of them change.  I plan to post ideas on how you can help your pre-k student get ready for kindergarten.  Our students are always busy learning while they are at school but fun, educational play at home will benefit them a great deal.
